| Although
the TAAU message
board is an excellent source for news and events, we wanted
to do more, and so in the tradition of all the big US-based
news sites out there, we have assembled a team of reporters
to constantly update this section each and every day for you.
As there are already a number of excellent international news
sites out there, we have decided to dedicate this section to
Australian-specific information only, all of which we receive
direct from our contacts at Hasbro, Madman, Atari and, of course,
the hundreds of TAAU members out there who visit the site each
and every day to report their findings, so if you want to keep
up-to-date with local news and events, this is the place to
be! |

To coincide with their release of the Japanese Headmasters series and their upcoming Masterforce and Victory series', Madman Entertainment have just launched a "Design a Transformer" competition:
Artists, pencils at the ready! It's time to get your creative oils flowing. The task this month is to TRANSFORM your blank canvas into an all new form of sentient giant robot life!
That's right, we want you to design a new kind of TRANSFORMER!
Celebrating the release of the Japanese TRANSFORMERS anime HEADMASTERS, MASTERFORCE (February), and VICTORY (May), we want you to create a new Transformer character, with a new type of power.
In Headmasters, a smaller robot forms the head of the Transtector body and Targetmasters who take the form of their weapons. In Masterforce, there are Pretenders posing as humans, and Godmasters, whose humanoid engines give them spectacular powers. What can your Transformer do?
Now is your chance to show us the next Cybertronian evolution!
HOW TO ENTER:
Upload your art with a 50 word or less description of your Transformer, what their new power is, and how it works.
PRIZES:

COLLECTZING, A NEW ONLINE SOCIAL AND TRADING NETWORK FOR COLLECTORS
I was contacted recently by one of the founders of collectZing - a new online social and trading network for collectors - asking me if I wouldn't mind checking their site out and possibly giving them a plug if I thought it might be something Transformers collectors would be interested in, and after creating an account today and setting up a couple of collections, I can definitely see how this would be something TAAU members might find useful, so why not take a look for yourselves by visiting www.collectZing.com or by learning a little more about the network below:
CollectZing.com, the free online social and trading network for collectors, young and old, dabbling and passionate, has been launched. With collectZing you can easily create and organise catalogues of your collectibles, and store important information about them.
The collectZing Marketplace is an online trading exchange where collectors can buy, sell and swap their collectibles, with no fees or costs during the beta period.
Members can list their items for sale with a range of different payment options, including collectZing's own virtual currency the 'Zing'. Potential buyers can then browse and make offers on the items - including offering one of their own items for a swap as part of the trade. The Marketplace is not auction based, so sellers can choose to accept any of the offers, meaning highest price does not necessarily guarantee success.
Unlike auction web sites, collectZing tracks the provenance of the items traded in the Marketplace, helping to prevent fraud and substantially improving the historical information available about a collectible the next time it is offered for sale in the Marketplace.
collectZing benefits all types of collectors. New collectors can learn from more experienced ones, join the community and make long-term friendships, and easily maintain a catalogue of all their new purchases and finds. More passionate collectors can benefit from the detailed object descriptions, which can be used to maintain financial and insurance information, track loans, trades and sale information.
collectZing.com is the ideal online meeting place for collectors of anything at all. Most of us have something we collect - even if you don't view yourself as a 'collector' you can still have fun on the site by creating collections of things that are meaningful to you."
