| Although
the TAAU message
board is an excellent source for news and events, we wanted
to do more, and so in the tradition of all the big US-based
news sites out there, we have assembled a team of reporters
to constantly update this section each and every day for you.
As there are already a number of excellent international news
sites out there, we have decided to dedicate this section to
Australian-specific information only, all of which we receive
direct from our contacts at Hasbro, Madman, Atari and, of course,
the hundreds of TAAU members out there who visit the site each
and every day to report their findings, so if you want to keep
up-to-date with local news and events, this is the place to
be! |

CYBERTRON CARTOON BEGINS THIS SATURDAY
Brand-new TAAU member rossmac has stepped up to the plate with some great news - the "Transformers: Cybertron" cartoon starts its Australian screening this Saturday, September 3, as part of Channel 10's "Toasted TV" show.
Long-time TAAUer and Hasbro insider Laserbeak has also knocked one out of the park, confirming Channel 10's screening of the series will begin with the second episode - unlike North America, where it began with episode three due, allegedly, to in-house disputes between show producers and voice talent. Laserbeak also says the Cartoon Network debut of "Cybertron" has moved up in the last few days, and will now be sometime in early October.
So check your local listings and set your VCRs (or, for some lucky people, recordable DVD players) because a new era of Transformers animation is about to begin on free-to-air television!

DISCOUNTED ALTERNATORS APPEARING ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Many thanks to Blaster from the TAAU boards for reporting that Toyworld in Rockhampton (QLD) currently has Alternator Hounds at the reduced price of $35.
And if you thought that was good, then check out this report from 'ST', who claims to have seen Alternator Hounds and Meisters in Toys 'R Us Perth City for the absolute bargain price of $25!
Sounds like retailers may be working up to a nationwide clearance/reduction of Alternator figures, so keep your eyes peeled for discounted bots in your local toy stores.
As always, you can keep up-to-date with all the latest sales occurring across the country in this thread here.

GIANT STARSCREAM ARRIVES IN AUSTRALIA
Long-time TAAU member Vert has always been a lucky guy and, today, he became luckier still - by being the first to find the much-anticipated Cybertron Starscream on Australian toy shelves!
Vert found the Supreme-sized Decepticon Aerospace commander at his local Toyworld for $99.95. Starscream is the first of the large Cybertron figures to be released, and its arrival here follows its Japanese release just days ago.
If you want one of these big beasties, keep your eyes open... though, at their size, they should be hard to miss.

UNIVERSE RAILBOTS @ K-MART... SORT OF
TAAU board members Capey and Daz have sighted the latest TF: Universe releases... the six-member Micromaster Railbots team... at K-Mart stores in Joondalup and Maddington respectively. But, thanks to a quirk of fate and slow store computer updating, they were unable to buy the toys - because they had not yet been listed as stock!
Therefore, the latest news is that these fine repaints of the Japanese G1 Sixtrain team are on the shelves... just not for sale yet. Sheesh. Hopefully this situation will rectify itself really soon.
