Although the TAAU message board is an excellent source for news and events, we wanted to do more, and so in the tradition of all the big US-based news sites out there, we have assembled a team of reporters to constantly update this section each and every day for you. As there are already a number of excellent international news sites out there, we have decided to dedicate this section to Australian-specific information only, all of which we receive direct from our contacts at Hasbro, Madman, Atari and, of course, the hundreds of TAAU members out there who visit the site each and every day to report their findings, so if you want to keep up-to-date with local news and events, this is the place to be!

WAR WITHIN TO BE COMPLETED IN PAPERBACK FORM?

Australian-based online comics store Ecomics.com.au has listed Transformers - The War Within: Age of Wrath as one of their trade paperback releases for September. The paperback is slated to contain the already-published issues #1 through #3 of the series (featuring the return of Megatron) as well as the unpublished issues #4 through #6 (spotlighting the return of Optimus Prime).

As fans would know, this series was in the middle of its scheduled run when US publisher Dreamwave went into bankruptcy. When questioned about its listing, Ecomics.com.au told TAAU:

"The publisher was Dreamwave but (the book) now is being published by a company called DreamEngine. As of today, our records still confirm that this item is to be released in early September. The original publisher of the company Dreamwave is now no longer in business, but the rights to their existing product have been given to DreamEngine."

As fans would also be aware, DreamEngine is the company Pat and Roger Lee formed in the final days of Dreamwave.

So have the Lee brothers been granted the rights to Transformers once again, or do they simply have the right to distribute all the completed yet unpublished material created under their watch? Stay tuned, as TAAU will bring you more developments as they arise.
