| Although
the TAAU message
board is an excellent source for news and events, we wanted
to do more, and so in the tradition of all the big US-based
news sites out there, we have assembled a team of reporters
to constantly update this section each and every day for you.
As there are already a number of excellent international news
sites out there, we have decided to dedicate this section to
Australian-specific information only, all of which we receive
direct from our contacts at Hasbro, Madman, Atari and, of course,
the hundreds of TAAU members out there who visit the site each
and every day to report their findings, so if you want to keep
up-to-date with local news and events, this is the place to
be! |

WANTED: GALVATRON, DEAD OR ALIVE
He's nasty, he's lavendar, he's juiced on energon and he's making his malevolent way to a Target outlet near you...
TAAU board member darkjedi reports finding Energon Galvatron at his local Target - that being Morayfield, Queensland. The big purple guy is retailing for $89.99, the usual "super" price point at the Red Spot Boutique.

NEW UNIVERSE FIGURES AT TOYS R US
What happens when everyone's favourite heroic G1 jets, the Aerialbots... and some nasties from G2 and Beast Machines... are re-formatted by the Chaos Bringer, Unicron?
Toys R Us stores now have the answer with the release of the latest wave of Transformers: Universe figures. The new range includes Nemesis Strika, Skydive, Fireflight and the Air Raid/Windsheer two-pack, each retailing for $31.99.
In addition, TRU has re-stocked on the Universe version of Skywarp (patterned after Beast Machines' Jetstorm), which is available for the same price.

TF BARGAINS GALORE ACROSS THE STORES
You'd be forgiven for thinking Christmas was coming.
TF prices in two of the country's biggest retail chains - Big W and Target - have taken nose dives this week, with some of the newest and most desirable bots... and some old delectables... becoming amazingly affordable as the festive season draws near.
At Big W, Alternators... including the newly released Tracks... are just $37.61 each. It must be a favourite price for the chain - the store-exclusive Energon SWAT Team two-pack (featuring Prowl and Checkpoint) is also retailing for $37.61!
If you feel like saving yourself $1.70, wander across to Target where you can buy the RID Landfill giftset (Grimlock, Wedge, Heavyload and Hightower) for $35.91. For a few dollars more (well, a lot of dollars more), you can pick up the store-exclusive Energon Optimus/Megatron two-pack, retailing at $65.
And don't forget - several David Jones stores around the country still have stock of the exclusive Universe Nemesis Prime for $54.99 each, and deranged clone mammoths make wonderful yuletide gifts for that special Chaos Bringer in your life.
There are bargains a plenty to be had - so stop waiting for Santa and hit the shops!

TRU MAKING ENERGON DEALS
"Now, without making any sudden moves, offer them an Energon goodie."
Toys R Us have released a new catalogue featuring a great deal for Transfans. Purchase any Mega-sized figure (such as Jetfire, Mirage, Ironhide or Shockblast) and receive a free Basic-sized figure!
In addition, TRU has dropped the price of Megas to $34.99 each (a saving of $10 on their regular pricing) and the price of Super-sized figures (no, not Morgan Spurlock) to $89.99.

ALTERNATOR MEISTER AT BIG W
He is the most elusive of Autobot special agents, a cultural chameleon who learns all about his environment before using it to strike. But now his cover has been blown - Alternator Meister has been found on Australian store shelves!
Lando, a friend of TAAU board member DragonTail, picked Meister up today at Big W in Elizabeth, South Australia. Even bigger news, though, is the price he paid - just $39.67, a saving of more than $10 on the usual Alternator price point.
Big W also had Alternators Hound, Smokescreen and Silverstreak in stock for the same price. And with Dead End appearing in more and more TRU stores nationwide, it seems Hasbro's big push toward Christmas is well and truly on.
Keep your scanners peeled - Meister is out there for the buying!

ENERGON SWAT TEAM AT BIG W
November really is the month for TF sightings.
TAAU board member Crank has reported a rather arresting (groan) development... he's found the new Energon SWAT Team set at his local Big W! The set features Rodimus and Prowl in store-exclusive, police-style recolours.
Crank has also thoughtfully provided the store code for the set - 501 7508 T/FORM SWAT TEAM - for use in finding the figures.

ENERGON PRIME AND MEGATRON TWO-PACK AT TARGET
TAAU board member reillyd reports finding the Optimus Prime/Megatron two-pack (featuring the smaller-sized versions of the Energon leaders) at Target in Pacific Fair today. Unfortunately, due to a power black-out, he wasn't able to find out how much the set costs.
Fortunately, fellow member Basic Zarak also found the set in his neighbourhood, retailing for approximately $90.
The Target-exclusive set has reached our shores, so start speaking sweetly to the employees of your local "Red Spot Boutique"!

TWO-DAY ENERGON MARATHON ON CARTOON NETWORK
Cartoon Network are advertising a two-day event for the weekend of November 20 and 21 that should be of great interest to TAUU members and Transfans. For eight hours each of those two days, Transformers: Energon will go "head-to-head" with another Hasbro property, Duelmasters, in marathon screenings.
It's unknown at this time whether the marathons will mix episodes from both series, or whether the days will be split between the shows, or if new episodes will be screened, but it's something to keep in mind if you're looking to while away some time that weekend.

HASBRO AU UPDATES AND RELEASE SCHEDULES
Hasbro AU have kindly provided me with some updates and release schedules for a number of upcoming items, which can be viewed below:
ENERGON:
- SWAT Team (Prowl / Rodimus recolours): will be a Big W exclusive due to appear in catalogues mid to late November.
- Optimus vs Megatron packs: currently set as a Target exclusive (no release date given).
UNIVERSE:
- 'Battle in a Box' sets: unfortunately these been cancelled for quality assurance reasons in Australia, so they won't be making it onto our shelves after all.
- G1 Spychangers (repackaged in robot mode with alternate box art): these babies will be reappearing over here in December.
CYBERTRON:
Hasbro AU have stated that they will be launching Transformers: Cybertron with wave one only this time, rather than waiting and launching multiple waves at once (as with Energon), and these fabulous toys are currently due to hit our shores late June, early July 2005!

ENERGON GESTALT BASICS AT TOYWORLD
Where go the leaders, so too follow the soldiers.
TAAU board member reillyd has reported finding Energon gestalt basics (the arms and legs of the combined super-robots) at his local Toyworld in Runway Bay, Queensland, for $14.99 each.
Strangely, the store had none of the Energon gestalt deluxes - as found by board member Vert at a Toyworld in New South Wales. Reillyd was told the reason for this was due to the large amount of stock already on the shelves.
So it seems Toyworld is the place to go for gestalt limbs... even though there are no guarantees which limbs you'll find!
