| Although
the TAAU message
board is an excellent source for news and events, we wanted
to do more, and so in the tradition of all the big US-based
news sites out there, we have assembled a team of reporters
to constantly update this section each and every day for you.
As there are already a number of excellent international news
sites out there, we have decided to dedicate this section to
Australian-specific information only, all of which we receive
direct from our contacts at Hasbro, Madman, Atari and, of course,
the hundreds of TAAU members out there who visit the site each
and every day to report their findings, so if you want to keep
up-to-date with local news and events, this is the place to
be! |

BARGAIN ARMADA UNICRONS AND ENERGON OMEGA SUPREMES NOW AVAILABLE AT TARGET
During my trip into town on Saturday, I visited Target and discovered that they have some great deals on two of Transformers' biggest and baddest toys at the moment:
- Armada Unicron, who is now only $55 (less than half price)
- Energon Omega Supreme, who is now a mere $80 ($50 off)
The Target sale ends Wednesday, September 29, so if you've waiting for a price drop on these big guys, now's the time to crack open those wallets!

DAVID JONES EXCLUSIVE UNIVERSE NEMESIS PRIME TO BE RELEASED IN VERY LIMITED NUMBERS
Thanks to darkjedi from the TAAU boards for reporting that David Jones exclusive Universe Nemesis Prime will be available from week beginning 04.10.04 (Monday) and will be priced at $54.95, however - and this is important, so listen up - they will only be getting 600 figures Australia-wide!
David Jones have 36 stores across the country, so working on the formula that all the stores sell toys (which they don't), that's 600/36 which works out to roughly 16 per store.
So, our advice to you is, if you see one, buy it!

BIG W TOY MADNESS SALE
Big W are having their second major toy sale for the year starting this Thursday, September 23. Transformers are featured on page 10 of the Toy Madness catalogue with both Optimus and Unicron pictured. Pricing is as follows:
- Energon Optimus Prime - $66.43 (save $22.30)
- Energon Deluxes - $19.64, (save $5)
- Energon Basics - $11.87
Probably the biggest news from the catalogue is that Energon Unicron has had a permanent price reduction. At just $98 now is a good time to pick up the Chaos Bringer if you haven't done so already.
Other size brackets should also be on sale, though their prices are not advertised in the catalogue. Energon Megatron is in the Big W system as Optimus Prime, so he should also be at the special price.
Sale ends Sunday October 3.

TAAU SEPTEMBER COMPETITION: MADMAN WANT YOUR FEEDBACK
Great news: those shiny, happy people at Madman Entertainment contacted us today, asking if we would carry out a few Transformers polls for them, because, as always, they want our feedback on their up-coming Transformers releases, which is why we love 'em so much. Awww.
Not that any of you really need encouragement to offer your expert opinions, but they've decided to dangle a couple of big, juicy, DVD shaped carrots in front of your noses anyway, and are offering a Collection 4 (series 3.1) box-set (released 20.10.04) and an all-new Autobot or Decepticon logo t-shirt (printed and licensed officially to Madman Entertainment and available in M, L or XL) for one lucky contributor to each question!
So, take a look at the questions below and please email your suggestions/opinions to myvote@theyareamongus.com.
1) Four seasons, one movie: what are the five most memorable moments of our beloved G1 animated series? (Choose from each season, or just choose from one: you decide! )
2) Madman Entertainment is doing its best to load collection six (season four) with the best extras of any Transformers release in the world, so, what do they need to get? Submit your wish-lists!
3) You're the president of Madman Entertainment: what's next once G1 wraps up, be it Transformers or otherwise?
Once you've finished brainstorming and decide to take that well-earned rest, why not check out Madman's exciting new 'Retro Collection' at http://retro.madman.com.au
Among many of their up-coming titles are the awesome Battle of the Planets, Voltron and Star Blazers, so check it out!
