| Although
the TAAU message
board is an excellent source for news and events, we wanted
to do more, and so in the tradition of all the big US-based
news sites out there, we have assembled a team of reporters
to constantly update this section each and every day for you.
As there are already a number of excellent international news
sites out there, we have decided to dedicate this section to
Australian-specific information only, all of which we receive
direct from our contacts at Hasbro, Madman, Atari and, of course,
the hundreds of TAAU members out there who visit the site each
and every day to report their findings, so if you want to keep
up-to-date with local news and events, this is the place to
be! |

RADIO INTERVIEW WITH TRANSFORMERS FAN AND ARTIST
While surfing around this morning, I discovered an old interview with Newcastle-based artist, Neal Smith, which was conducted by Anthony Scully of 1233 ABC Newcastle. The radio station's footprint extends from Wyong to Nelson Bay and from the Coast to the Upper Hunter; an area which holds a population of more than 540,000 people.
Every fortnight they broadcast a section called 'Airbrush' which plays on Saturday mornings and is designed to give you an insight into an artist's studio and life.
Neal Smith finds inspiration in popular culture, from toys to advertising material to television shows, and the entire interview focuses almost entirely around Transformers, with sound clips, voice-overs and all!
You can listen to the 6:32 minute interview (Real Audio streaming) right here, or view a transcript of the interview here.

Ha ha ha! Classic! I love the fact that they made the interview available online, but it really didn't seem like either of them had a clue about Transformers. Still, good on Neal for choosing them as a subject and great to see the brand get some air time.
