"TRANSFORMERS:
FIRESTORM," by Raptor_7_7_7
Down at the Decepticon base, Optimus
Prime approached the view of the Decepticons. Cyclonus and
the Sweeps immediately turned and faced him. Cyclonus and
Scourge’s Target Master partners swiftly transformed
and jumped into their hands. Galvatron then turned his attention
away from the monitor and faced his arch-nemesis.
‘So Prime, I see you’ve
come once more to make an attempt to thwart my plans,’
Galvatron sarcastically sneered at Prime. ‘However,
you do not realise that you will not succeed.’
‘To the contrary, I will succeed,’
Prime sternly replied.
‘You’re greatly out-numbered,
and I personally have more power in me then you can possibly
imagine. I also am much more stable then I previously was.
More like, Megatron – how I was when Unicron originally
reformatted me.
‘Those minor details will
not deter me Galvatron. You will fall, and so will your plan
to destroy Earth’s sun.’
‘Bah! It matters not your
opinion!’ Galvatron turned his attention to his Elite-Guard.
‘Cyclonus, Scourge, Sweeps – destroy this pathetic
excuse for a Transformer. I have other matters to attend to.’
With death-like gazes, Cyclonus,
Scourge and the Sweeps strode over to Optimus Prime in strong,
tight formation. The Autobot leader readied his laser rifle
and began firing at Cyclonus. Cyclonus stomped right through
the blasts, shielding himself with his arms. Optimus Prime
backed off slowly at first, gradually speeding up.
‘Sweeps! Encircle him!’
Cyclonus ordered.
Scourge and the three Sweeps flew
over to Prime, each landing around him in a square position.
Cyclonus marched up and looked at Prime, spitting at the same
time.
‘It will be a pleasure to
destroy you Optimus Prime,’ he taunted. ‘Sweeps,
fire in the name of Galvatron!’
The sweeps aimed and fired at Prime,
chanting the words ‘for Galvatron’ constantly.
Prime immediately leapt up bringing the well aimed shots slightly
up with him, causing them to cruise over the Sweeps’
heads. As he began the process of landing and the Sweeps began
firing up at him, Prime directed his fall near to Cyclonus,
who immediately opened fire on him as he came near to landing
but to no avail. Prime kicked him down then turned to face
the Sweeps, firing his rifle at them rapidly. The Sweeps withstood
and dodged as many shots as they could as they charged at
him.
Cyclonus picked himself off the
ground, and grabbed frantically at Prime’s soldiers
and upper torso, pulling the great warrior down to the ground.
Cyclonus aimed Nightstick at him carefully.
‘Time to die, the not-so-invincible
Optimus Prime!’ he jeered, firing his Target Master
partner. Prime rolled over with haste, but the glanced shot
from Cyclonus hit him in the back. Prime held the pain in,
pushed off the ground, launching his elbow into Cyclonus’s
face. Cyclonus dropped Nightstick who swiftly transformed.
‘Blasted Autobot!’ he
spat. ‘We’ll take you down yet!’
Cyclonus reeled back from the pain,
his mind taking a few seconds to register the shock. Scourge
and the Sweeps rushed towards Prime and Cyclonus knocking
Prime down while two Sweeps grasped hold of his arms and held
him up ready for punishment. Cyclonus walked over, Nightstick
leaping up and transforming into gun mode into his hand.
Cyclonus aimed at Prime’s
head and slowly pulled the trigger. Prime wrenched the two
Sweeps who had cuffed his hands in a death grip in front of
the blast, knocking them together and also being hit by the
powerful laser bolt. Prime threw the two Sweeps over to Cyclonus,
knocking him and themselves to the ground giving Prime enough
time to retrieve his rifle. He performed an well-aimed shot
at the two Sweeps heads, disabling them from the battle.
‘I see the Sweeps aren’t
as cowardly as they used to be. Maybe the cowardice has worn
off on you Cyclonus? Prime taunted.
‘I would not make such swift
judgements if I were you Optimus Prime,’ Cyclonus retaliated.
‘Scourge! Sweep! Charge him!’
Scourge and the remaining Sweep
charged Optimus Prime, giving Cyclonus time to pick himself
up. The three Decepticons then opened fire on the Autobot
leader relentlessly. The Autobot leader, unable to take so
much concentrated fire so rapidly, forcefully fell down, slowly
crawling back at the same time.
‘Your time is over Prime!’
Scourge stated.
‘My circuits still function
Scourge, and nothing you do will change that!’ Prime
returned.
‘To the contrary Optimus Prime,
you cannot defeat all of us,’ Cyclonus said.
Optimus Prime then performed a sweeping
kick, knocking all three of the warriors to the ground. Cyclonus’s
and Scourge’s Target Masters leapt up, transforming
to humanoid mode in the process. They leaped on Prime’s
face, clawing at his optical sensors. Prime grabbed the two
Target Masters, and slowly ripped them off, revealing a half-torn
off face.
Prime then aimed his rifle at the
remaining sweep, and fired, rendering him useless until repaired.
Cyclonus and Scourge withstood a few shots from Prime before
finally getting up and backing away from the tattered Autobot.
Then, Galvatron flew over head and
landed, staring at Prime’s ruined face.
‘Who would have thought that
the “mighty” Optimus Prime would be so scarred
from this small fight. Destroying you will be less of a pleasure
then I was hoping,’ Galvatron said, then immediately
fired a blast at Optimus Prime.
Optimus Prime slammed to the ground,
a portion of his plating falling off from Galvatron’s
blast. But something was wrong… that blast should not
have done that, even in Optimus Prime’s weakened state…
Perhaps Galvatron had found something that augmented his power
more the Prime had anticipated?
‘Cyclonus! Scourge! Get up
and hold this pathetic excuse for a transformer!’ The
two spawns of Unicron complied, each grasping one of Prime’s
arms each. They lifted the warrior up to his knees, though
he still slumped over, badly weakened from Galvatron’s
cannon.
‘So pitiful!’ Galvatron
snarled, pulling his fist back then launching it at Optimus
Prime hard in the face. ‘Just like a dog that does not
know when to back off. A typical Autobot I might say!’
he tilted Prime’s head down, then kneed him exceptionally
hard in the face. ‘You disgust me Prime!’
Prime lifted his weakened head up,
staring at Galvatron. ‘I cannot…’ he gasped
weakly, ‘allow you to…’ the pain in his
vocal module intensified, ‘to destroy this world’s
sun.’
‘You may know about my plans
to destroy this solar system, but it won’t help you.
You see Prime, after all these many years, I have finally
realised why exactly you have aligned yourself with these
putrid flesh creatures.’ Prime looked somewhat surprised
at this, lifting his head up slightly to hear Galvatron better.
‘They’ve supplied you with all the energy you
could ever want! Yet, still with restrictions. I do not understand
completely, however, as to why you just did not conquer this
pathetic world! Take the resources with an iron fist! You
do not need restrictions! In fact, you could have enslaved
the entire human race to do your work for you!’
‘Freedom is the right for
all sentient beings, Galvatron!’ Prime defied weakly.
‘Freedom! Hah! Don’t
make me laugh Optimus Prime. If you were so desperate to liberate
every damned species in the universe, give them freedom, then
why do you hunt Decepticons? We’re sentient, we have
the right to freedom!’
‘Because you wish to take
the freedom of others, and as an Autobot, I will not sit by
and watch you take other’s freedom to fuel your hunger
for power.’
‘Ah, so we have reasons after
all,’ Galvatron semi-sarcastically said, feigning a
smile while slapping Primes face head with the back of his
hand. ‘You’re still weak Optimus! The weak pile
of junk I destroyed in 2005! The intervention of the Quintessons
in 2006 only gave me a second chance to destroy you. However,
I would not have enjoyed the pleasure to do so while I was
an insane madman. For what you must have only inferred now
is that I am fully operational, none of my circuits impaired.’
Galvatron lifted up Prime’s chin. ‘Now, Optimus
Prime, you will die such a horrendous death that your pain
circuits will overload – purely because they are incapable
of containing the levels of pain that I will cause unto you!’
Weakly, Prime stared like death
into Galvatron’s menacing optical sensors. He would
not fail Earth. The Autobots were still too far away –
if he fell now, Earth would be destroyed.
‘A shame somewhat,’
Galvatron continued. ‘But, your death will be quite
fun nevertheless.’
Optimus Prime felt a spark of newfound
life course through his entire body. He grabbed hold of Scourge’s
and Cyclonus’s arms, wrenching them forward, collapsing
their heads together, while pulling at them to lift himself
up, then elbowing their heads with such fury that it dented
their faceplates, disabling their mental functions.
‘Is this all war is to you
Galvatron? A game!’ Prime roared with his newfound strength.
‘As long as every circuit in my body functions, I will
not allow you to have your fun at destroying me! I will not
allow Earth to be destroyed for your mad ambition of destroying
an entire race of sentient beings! Today Galvatron, it will
end!’
‘You’re a fool Prime!
You cannot match my strength, and never will!’
Galvatron charged at Prime, unfeeling
of any form of pain. Optimus Prime flew several metres as
a result; his back and legs skidding against the ground several
times through.
‘You will be destroyed for
your foolishness! And you will not be resurrected from my
blows! I will rip your body apart, and blast the pieces into
such fine ash that not even Unicron would be able to provide
your wretched ghost with a new body!’ Galvatron declared.
Galvatron ripped Prime up from the
ground, but Prime punched the superior foe hard in the chest.
Galvatron laughed, knocking his head hard against Prime’s,
causing Prime’s head module to loose plating, revealing
circuitry, fuses and wires inside.
Galvatron flung Prime to the ground.
Fortunately for Prime, his blaster rifle was just in front
of him. With all of his rapidly depleting strength, he reached
for the rifle, holding it firmly, and aiming at Galvatron
and firing constantly.
‘Your pathetic weapon will
not harm me Optimus!’ Galvatron aimed his cannon at
Prime’s rifle, and fired a swift, devastating, narrow
laser that melted and disintegrated the barrel, charger and
charge storage. ‘My power is absolute Optimus Prime!
Defeat is absurd!’ Galvatron stomped over to Prime,
wrenching his weakened body up from the ground, throwing it
hard against a new patch a few metres away.
‘Without your weapon Prime,
you have no chance of defeating me! You are not a warrior
any more – no weapon, and by far not enough strength
to harm even an Insecticon!’ Galvatron leaned down,
about to rip Optimus Prime apart piece by piece.
‘Though weapons and strength
I lack – but a warrior I was, am and always be!’
Prime retorted, wrenching a fallen tree trunk from the nearby
ground. He pulled it back, slamming Galvatron hard in the
chest and face several times over.
Galvatron laughed at the futile
attempt, ripped the trunk from Prime’s grasp, who screamed
out in pain like a very limb was torn from him, and then threw
the trunk away. Revealed beneath Galvatron was Prime –
his right arm torn off, clenched to the tree trunk Galvatron
previously tore from his grasp – or more accurately,
his body.
‘Do you think a stick can
beat me Prime? I have more power then you think!’ and
with that statement, Galvatron picked Prime up from the ground
and threw him several metres away like an angry young child
would to a rag doll. ‘I have much more power than you
realise Prime, much more.’
Galvatron closed his fists and leant
down somewhat. His size was increasing rapidly. He was becoming
much, much taller, larger, stronger…Soon the great change
ended, revealing Galvatron as twice his old size. Much more
powerful indeed…
The titan walked over to Prime,
and began to tear at his body’s plating. He slowly ripped
the grill off his chest, piece by piece, Prime crying out
in intense pain. Galvatron soon turned his attention to the
Autobot’s remaining arm, and began to slowly wrench
a finger off.
‘In pain Prime?’ he
rhetorically asked in a sadistic tone of voice.
Prime focused. He could not let
the pain get to him. He must defeat Galvatron. Galvatron seemed
like he was not putting in nearly as much effort as he would
clearly be capable of. Perhaps he could use this to his advantage?
‘Not as much as you think
Galvatron!’ Prime declared, freeing his left arm, and
grabbing Galvatron’s throat, ripping out the plate and
ripping the wires apart inside.
Galvatron backed off very quickly,
seeming to choke intensely. The red plates on his chest lit
up, and Cyclonus, Scourge, the Sweeps reactivated and scrambled
to their leader who had fallen down, gasping due to the ripped
wires. Two Sweeps picked up the body and everyone hastily
charged to the temporary space bridge module, activating it
and in a great, magnificent show of lights, vanished.
Prime had won, but only by
a narrow grab with no guarantee of success. Galvatron would
live, but would he?
