Transfans are not only dedicated,
but are also very creative as well, and our Fan Art section
will demonstrate just how talented some of our members are!
It doesn't matter if you've just quickly sketched something
out on the back of a napkin or whether you've spent your entire
life modeling a particular character; regardless of how 'good'
or 'bad' you think it is, we'd all still love to see it, so
get sending your work in and we'll display it online.
001_ADMIRAL LILWALL
Admiral
Lilwall has been drawing Transformers™ since
their first release in 1984, and produces both hand drawn
and computer assisted art works. He says that using visual
references when illustrating is very helpful, "They're
pretty much a saviour really as I find 3D elements quite hard,
especially hands, damn them!"
Annoyance
is an absolute master when it comes to 3D modeling, crafting
raw data into stunning, haunting images. He was commissioned
to design a logo for a friend a few years ago, and as a payment
for the work he did, he was given a copy of Neutek's Lightwave,
a powerful 3D modeling program which he now uses at an expert
level.
At only 21 years
of age, and with only a small amount of artistic training,
Big Convoy shows some serious potential! He has produced some
absolutely stunning work, but to the surprise of many, including
his year 12 art teacher, he didn't choose art as a career.
"I guess I have always been able to draw and its a shame
I didn't pursue it."
He's starting out
just like Quentin Tarantino did: Damian is 25 and working
as a clerk in a video store, but in his spare time he's writing
a film script and producing some excellent illustrations,
"...and I have other works which are non-Transformers
related as well, so if anyone wants to see more, I'm more
than happy to share!"
Even
at the young age of 2, Ravage was being complimented
on his drawing skills, and so it's no surprise to see his
abilities grow into what you see today! He has completed a
Desktop Publishing certificate, which he says helped to hone
his computer colouring skills, but like many talented people,
he is largely self-taught.
Most
of you will know Senex-Prime from our TAAU Trivia section,
however you may not also realise that, by day, Senex works
for an Advertising agency, employed as none other than a Graphic
Designer! "I've
been drawing for as long as I can recall, probably cutting
my artistic teeth on the walls with a crayon as a toddler!"
Snarl
began producing Transformers™ fan art at an early age,
in fact, from the moment he could grasp a crayon he was drawing
dinosaurs in his primary school work book after watching 'S.O.S
Dinobots' the night before! Although he has no formal training
or qualifications, he has come a long way, so check out his
art work here!
Although
Spyder has no formal art qualifications, he has had
a lot of artistic influence in his life, coming in the form
of his Grandfather who currently works as an artist producing
WW2 aircraft recognition charts. "Why just draw planes
when you can draw planes that turn into other stuff!"
That's the way Spyder sees it anyway.
If
you collect Transformers™ then you you may very well
have a picture of Vert's
collection stapled to your wall to give you a visual incentive
to keep on with it, however you may also find yourself pinning
up these pictures as well soon, because it turns out that
Vert also happens to be a classically trained artist as well!
If
you've drawn, illustrated, painted, coloured, digitally composited
or 3D rendered any kind of Transformers fan art, then send
it in to us and we'll display it on our site, giving you some
serious exposure and crediting your well deserved efforts!
