At TAAU, we try to avoid using dealer terminology by providing detailed descriptions which are easy-to-read and understand, however, there are many sellers out there who adopt certain terms to save time by abbreviating and summarising their descriptions, and so, if you've recently come across one of these items and are confused by all the acronyms, then the following explanations should help you better understand the item and its condition.

MIMSB = Mint In Mint Sealed Box

This term describes a toy which remains in its perfect, undamaged, sealed box, thus making it impossible for the toy inside to have ever been removed.

MISB = Mint In Sealed Box

This term describes a toy which remains in its sealed box, thus making it impossible for the toy inside to have ever been removed, however it is important to remember that the box itself may still possess some wear or damage.

MIB = Mint In Box

Although probably more well known these days as 'Men In Black', this term amongst toy collectors describes a toy that is in mint condition inside its box, but has been taken out in the past.

NRFB = Never Removed From Box

Same as above, however, be cautious as this might mean that the seal has been broken even though it was never removed.

MOMSC = Mint On Mint Sealed Card

Similar to MIMSB, this term describes a toy which still remains inside its perfect, undamaged, sealed or glued plastic bubble, thus making it impossible for the toy inside to have ever been removed.

MOSC = Mint On Sealed Card

This term describes a toy which remains in its sealed or glued plastic bubble, thus making it impossible for the toy inside to have ever been removed, however it is important to remember that the card itself may still possess some wear or damage.

MOC = Mint On Card

Similar to MOSC, this term describes a toy in mint condition sitting inside its plastic bubble, but has been taken out in the past.

NM = Near Mint

Term used to describe a toy which is in almost perfect or almost mint condition.

NR = New Release (or No Reserve)

This term can either be used to describe items which have only recently been produced and made available for public consumption, or, if used on an online auction site, it can also mean that the auction in question has no reserve price.

G1 = Generation 1

G2 = Generation 2

BFTS = Battle for the Spark™ (Beast Wars™)

The 'Battle for the Spark' toys still remain within the Beast Machines™ line, however they are US-only figures which offer a better resemblance to their CGI counterparts, and also possess a spark activated function which can be initialised by pressing their spark crystal.

RID = Robots in Disguise

This refers to a separate toy line called Robots in Disguise™ which was originally released in Japan under the Car Robots™ name.
