Just when you thought Madman had finished with their amazing series of celebrity DVD interviews and commentaries, I received news that they have lined up the following Transformers legends for their Beast Wars season 3 DVD!

+ David Kaye (voice of Megatron)
+ Garry Chalk (voice of Optimus)
+ Venus Terzo (voice of Blackarachnia)
+ Scott McNeil (voice of Rattrap, Dinobot, Waspinator and Silverbolt)
+ Alec Willows (voice of Tarantulas)

All these guys will be interviewed and will be fielding questions directly from you, and David, Garry, Scott - and possibly Alec - will be providing the commentaries!

And if that wasn't enough, Madman are also hoping to talk to some animators and directors as well, so in addition to your questions for the voice actors, you might want to have a think about questions you could put to Mainframe, too ;-)

Lastly, Madman would also like you to suggest an episode you'd like to hear a commentary on, considering the characters involved from the list above...

Deadline for this will be Monday, June 26th, so don't delay: post your questions from home, from work, from the toilet using your laptop or Blackberry! We don't care where you do it from, just as long as you do it, so it's over to you now guys, and don't waste this great opportunity, as they don't come round very often! :D

That is very impressive. I'm stumped for questions or commentary suggestions though. I'm waiting for the set to be released to watch season 3 for the first time. :blush

:O Damn that's some fine work by Madman!  I'm gonna have to watch season 3 on the weekend to think of which eps need a commentary.

Waspinator sick of being evil! Sick of being Predacon! And especially sick of getting blown to SCRAP ALL THE TIME!!! So Waspinator quit! As of now which means Ant-bot and Two-Heads can just pucker their mandibles and plant big, wet, juicy one right here on Waspinator's big, Fat, STRIPEY...

General questions to anyone that can answer it:

There's always been talk of the "lost episode" of Beast Wars in Season three called "Dark Glass" - it was replaced by "Go With the Flow." Can anyone elaborate on the plot / why it was cut etc?

Is there any explaination / thought process behind the "humouring" of season three - the show seemed to be more light hearted, containing many 'slapstick' moments and less violence. Was this something forced upon them by Hasbro or was it just decided to take this route?

Questions for animators / modellers:

What's the process involved in going from physical toy to 3D character?

Question for Garry / David:

How do you feel about the current Transformers shows (Armada, Energon, Cybertron) in comparison to Beast Wars?

A commentary by Venus on "Crossing the Rubicon" would be really neat :)

Here are a number of items that I would like addressed;

Firstly: to David Kaye; Was it your idea to add the flamboyant & unflappable traits to Megatron's personality that broke the mold for your regular run-of-the-mill tyrant/dictator? Likewise, was it your idea to display these tendancies in the animation itself in the posturing that Megs so often did? i.e, twitching the small front forelegs in T-Rex mode while waffling on about something?

Secondly: to Larry & Bob; 3 queries on story plots of Season 2 & 3;

#1. Transmetal Quantum Surge; while many good theories have surfaced on the 'net, I'm not sure that either Larry or Bob have ever explained the selection criteria for who went Transmetal and who didn't (and why for that matter) in the episode "Aftermath". Did Hasbro play any part in these decisions? Likewise, who's call was it to bump off Terrorsaur & Scorponok and why those 2 in particular?

#2. Alien Disc; Each of the 5 symbols on the disc represented an alien site on Earth. Three of these were explored & explained in S1, and a fourth in S2. What was planned for the fifth and final symbol/site and why wasn't it used in a story?

#3. Transmetal Driver; While it was explained that this was an alien (Vok) artifact, no explanation was ever given for what it was originally created for (before Megs modified it in Feral Scream pt.1), how & where Megs found it, and finally, what became of it after it resurrected Blackarachnia in Crossing the Rubicon.

Hopefully these queries (while long winded) might be addressed with some satisfactory answers.

Regards,
Red

More questions for the writers or anyone really if possible:

How much warning were you given from Hasbro that you had to end the series? How many episodes were already written when the order came?

If Beast Wars hadn't ended with season 3, what did you have planned to happen next?

It is rumoured that TigerHawk was forced into the show by Hasbro. Ca you elaborate on this?

Hey guys, just a reminder: the deadline for this is end of play tomorrow (Monday, June 26), so if you haven't posted your questions yet, now's the time to do it!
